Ashley Tisdale: Franchising Female

Sure, she’s one of the most recognizable faces in the world today, but Ashley Tisdale has only just begun her global domination career.

High School Musical success aside, the Sharpay Evans actress is already looking at what’s ahead. And it sounds like it could get a bit witchy.

According to reports, Tisdale is set to star in a remake of the 1989 fantasy musical “Teen Witch,” playing the part of Louise Miller, an unpopular high schooler who uncovers the truth behind her black magical powers when she traces her ancestry back to the days of the Salem witch trials.

In addition, Ashley has signed a one-year first-look producing deal with FremantleMedia North America, the production company that produces American Idol.

Per the contract, Tisdale will seek to develop unscripted shows for FreMantle aimed at a younger audience. She’s also developing a show for the Disney Channel based on her pre-fame life of working at a mall.
