Ashlee Simpson Poised to Unveil Vicky Valentine
In this crazy world we call showbusiness, there are a lot of egos floating around. In addition, many of the artists rely on alter egos to diversify their art. In the case of Ashlee Simpson, her wild side has a name, and that name is Vicky Valentine.
This past weekend in Las Vegas, the “Pieces of Me” singer was partying it up and let MTV have a sneak peek of a few tracks from her new album, due out in November. And from the sound of it, she’s exploring a whole new world, sonically. “You will know when Vicky is in the room!” she explained.
And Simpson feels like the new sound is a new lease on her life, artistically. “This is really fun for me,” Ashlee says. “I’ve always done guitar-based songs, and seeing what we can do with beats is so amazing.”
She continued, “There is definitely a different element on the record. I have a pretty low voice, so I got to touch in with that, [and I’ve been inspired by] doing ‘Chicago.’ ... I think there’s a part of every girl and guy who wants to get out and get away with things.” Timbaland’s flavor is all over the new tracks, and we all know what he can do when you let him loose.
