Ashlee Simpson Eludes Trick Baby Question

Thrown into the spotlight for her personal life just prior to the release of her new album Bittersweet World, Ashlee Simpson’s approach to stir up interest for her latest studio work seems to be working like a charm.

The Pieces Of Me has the public talking about her recent engagement announcement with Fall Out Boy beau Pete Wentz - and there’s a lot of baby talk going on right now, too.

During a call to Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show earlier this morning, the 23-year old singer had a laugh when the American Idol host brought up her big diamond from Wentz, 28.

“It is [huge]!” Simpson said from her New York City hotel room, “I stare at it. I’m like, ‘Oh, my god, I can’t believe this is on [my] hand!’”

Keeping hush about how Pete popped the question, Ashlee said: “I’m keeping that part sacred. But I will tell you it was very thoughtful and he did a great job.”

And there was still no luck finding any answers in the baby department, as Ryan asked Ashlee whether she was planning on drinking alcohol at a function on Thursday night, with Simpson playfully replying, “Who knows. Maybe.”
