Ashlee Simpson Can’t Get Paid
With her new album Bittersweet World hitting stores this Tuesday, April 22nd, as well as shotgun wedding and pregnancy rumors, there’s a lot going in the life of Ashlee Simpson.
And the “La La” singer seemed to be doing just fine at last night’s Conde Nast Traveler’s 8th annual Hot List issue party, held at New York’s Mansion.
She looked classy in an open-backed short-sleeved black dress with fringe around the bottom, accented by a Chanel pearl necklace and a pair of super-high beige heels.
And according to a recent report, Simpson’s dad/manager Joe has been frantically trying to get a $1 million exclusive cover story (discussing the wedding and pregnancy rumors) for the “Pieces of Me” songstress with a weekly magazine. But the most he’s been offered is a measly $60,000.
A source told press, “‘Joe is contacting all the weeklies and asking them to pony up $1 million to put Ashlee on the cover’...Sadly, there is some interest - but not for anything close to $1 million.”
