Ashanti Gets into Tourism

Sure, she’s sold a ton of albums and sold out concerts all over the world, but that’s not enough for Ashanti. Her latest venture is in the realm of tourism.

The “Mesmerize” songstress was spotted yesterday at the launch event for Nassau county’s new tourism campaign. Being that she’s originally from Long Island, it seemed fitting that she was chosen to become one of nine new ambassadors for the initiative.

And the “Foolish” songbird looked stunning in a short-sleeved cleavage-baring white summer dress with white beaded sandals as she worked the press conference.

Speaking about her invitation to the “Island Next Door” campaign, Ashanti told press that it was “amazing” to be asked to “give something back to the community.”
