Anne Hathaway Gets Professional Help
It’s no secret that guys dig girls with British accents. And for her role in Becoming Jane, Anne Hathaway reportedly turned to some Brit pros to help her get it right.
The Princess Diaries babe took private lessons from Juie Walters and Maggie Smith to get her cockney just right. But there was an abundance of stress surrounding her ability to pull it off.
“I felt really stupid staying in the accent all the time. I owe a lot to the rest of the cast who would sit there and coach me,” she told press. “It was the thing, I knew people would talk about the most, ‘Oh, here’s this young American upstart playing a beloved British icon.’”
As accents go, Anne may be trying out a new Italian accent, as she vacations on the boot-shaped peninsula with her boyfriend. And whoever said that Italy was for lovers was right, as evidenced by the constant canoodling in the pictures below.
