Thursday, March 29, 2007 Anna Nicole’s Son’s Inquest to Resume
A judge in the Bahamas is close to resolving a legal issue that has prevented the progress in Daniel Smith’s death investigation. The judge told the Associated Press on Wednesday that the inquest should resume soon.
Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez said he expects to rule in a closed session today (Thursday) on a motion filed by the estate of the former Playboy Playmate. The undisclosed issue prompted a delay in picking a jury for the inquest into the Sept. 10 death of Daniel Smith.
Daniel Smith was 20-years-old when he passed away. He was visiting his mother, Anna Nicole Smith, following the birth of her daughter, Dannielynn. Shortly thereafter, Anna Nicole died (February 8th).
The official cause of Daniel’s death has been determined to be a lethal combination of drugs, including methadone and antidepressants. Now, authorities are trying to ascertain whether the death was self-inflicted or the result of foul play. Looks like this one is far from over.
