Amy Winehouse: Released from Hospital
It was a scary scene outside of Amy Winehouse’s Camden London home yesterday, as paramedics rushed her to a nearby hospital emergency room. And twelve hours later, she’s been released.
The troubled singer was transported via ambulance to University College Hospital last night (July 28) following an apparent seizure believed to be caused by some new sobriety medication.
Her rep, Chris Goodman, told press, “Amy is fine and she is on her way home. She was taking a new [medication] as part of her anti-drug treatment program. And it was an adverse reaction to that new drug. You have to try different things but unfortunately this was not the right one.”
Goodman also commented that the “Rehab” songstress will be taking it easy for the next few months. “She has a few gigs to perform. After [playing a few summer] festivals, she is going to continue writing her new album. It will be rest and writing.”
