Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones: Fun at Work

Since ditching her Saturday Night Live gig to have a baby, we haven’t seen too much of Amy Poehler. And it looks like that’s about to change.

The “Baby Mama” actress was spotted on the set of a pilot for a yet-untitled project along with costar Rashida Jones of “The Office” fame.

Operating under the working title “Public Service,” the new show will reportedly premiere on April 9th at 8:30EST on NBC. Amy will be playing a mid-level government official named Leslie Knope.

Interestingly enough, the new show was supposed to begin airing after the Super Bowl on February 1st, but Poehler’s pregnancy prevented her from being able to work.

Of the new project, Amy told press, “What I’m looking forward to in this new show is finding the smaller moments. I’m really looking forward to playing a character that I can settle in with and kind of turn the volume down a little bit and get really specific and really real and allow myself to be an actor a little bit more. I really like this character. She’s really distinctive and funny and disillusioned and all those things that make a comic-tragic lead character.”
