American Idol: Stefani, J-Lo In; Michael Jackson Out

Speculation as to whether Michael Jackson would be making an appearance on hit tv show ‘American Idol’ seems to have been put to rest.

The rumors started a few weeks ago, after Robin Leach reported in his Luxe Life blog that the entertainer was meeting with American Idol mastermind Simon Fuller in Las Vegas to discuss his comeback strategy.

Jackson denied these claims, stating there is “absolutely no truth to the rumor” he would be appearing on the Fox talent competition.

The King of Pop was telling the truth, as last night, American Idol announced the sixth season lineup, which includes nine new celebrity coaches and guests scheduled to appear on the show.

On last night’s results show, Ryan Seacrest announced that Tony Bennett, Gwen Stefani, Bon Jovi, Jennifer Lopez, Lulu, Martina McBride, Peter Noone, Diana Ross and Barry Gibb will join the list of top musical talents who have made appearances on ‘Idol’.

In addition, Season Four winner Carrie Underwood and Season Five finalist Kellie Pickler will perform on the show this season.

While Michael may not be on the list, the selections should be enough to offer a little something for everyone.

That’s too bad. Im not a big fan, but it would have been nice seeing Michael Jackson do something that he’s definitely an expert in....music.
