Amanda Bynes Remakes Snow White

It’s been a summer of remakes, with Spider-Man 3 and Hairspray to name a few. Well, now Amanda Bynes is talking about the modern-day translation of Snow White.

Opening September 21st, “Sydney White” has the “What I Like About You” actress starring as Sydney White in a film about a college freshman that wants to join her late mother’s sorority. And the parallels between the fairytale and this updated version are pretty darn clever.

There is an evil sorority princess and, a poisoned Apple computer, and seven dorks (as opposed to dwarves) as part of the adaptation. And Bynes says that personally, she has a lot in common with her character Sydney.

“I grew up loving Archie comics and I was obsessed and I collected them,” she said. “I have like 400. I still have them. I, basically, when I was meeting to do this movie, said ‘What if my character had a comic book, you know, obsession?’ So they added it in and now my character is a comic book freak as well, so it kind of makes her relate to dorks.”
