Alex Rodriguez Speaks Out On Divorce

Divorce is never pleasant, especially if there are children involved. And after keeping quiet for nearly four weeks, New York Yankees all-star Alex Rodriguez is finally speaking up and responding to his wife’s demand for divorce.

In the documents filed on July 7th by Cynthia Rodriguez, the Yankee slugger’s wife and the mother of his two children, claimed “emotional abandonment.”

Cynthia asked to keep their $12 million Coral Gables mansion and to receive a cut of the earnings that he made throughout the duration of their marriage. Although Madonna was not mentioned in the filing, Cynthia’s attorney says that her husband’s relationship with the singer was “an affair of the heart” and “the last straw.”

A-Rod admitted that their marriage is “irretrievably broken.” He pointed out that Florida is a no fault state and he criticized his wife for bringing up “immaterial and impertinent” issues like his alleged “extra marital affairs and other marital misconduct.”

He also argued that the divorce settlement should be settled by the prenup that Cynthia signed a month before their wedding in 2002. According to the document, Cynthia signed the prenup “with the assistance of counsel of her own choosing, freely and voluntarily ... and with full and complete financial disclosure of husband’s income, assets and liabilities.”

As for their two children (Natasha 3 & Ella 3 months), Rodriquez acknowledges that he should pay child support and he asked the court to determine a fair amount. He requested that the couple share parental responsibility for their daughter’s “wealth, health, education and religious upbringing.”

Rodriguez also admitted that Cynthia is a “loving and nurturing mother” and he suggested the two work out a time to discuss the custody schedule without the courts intervention.

A-Rod’s attorneys said: “The husband requests that both parties are designated as ‘co-residential’ parents, realizing that the children are likely to spend more time with wife given the realities of husband’s professional life.”

Another gold digger digs up a pot full of the the shinning stuff. When will some of these women stop using men for money? You signed a prenup and ready to receive millions in cash and child support, why make the painful and emotional divorce more anguish than it is already? There should be a law protecting people against gold digging women and a law banning marriage for children. It is unfair to get married just so as to get a baby and torment the man for child support. The same goes to women that want a man for sperm. The pain and anguish men go through after being used and abused by the likes of Madonna, Selma Hayak, Brittany Spear and others is worst than than physical abuse. Since many women as shameless on these issues, there should be a law protecting men, preiod.
