2008 ALMA Awards: A Star-Studded Affair

Kicking off the red carpet season, the 2008 ALMA Awards keeps becoming a bigger and bigger affair - with the evening’s host Eva Longoria leading the pack of celebrities on-hand Sunday evening (August 17).

Joining Eva was her all-star basketball playing husband Tony Parker, as well as attendees such as Disney stars Ashley Tisdale and Selena Gomez, along with Roselyn Sanchez and America Ferrera.

“For the Almas this year, the word is sex,” fashion critic Steve Cojocaru told Variety of the event. “And it’s absolutely glamorous. The Latin stars really know how to dress up. They’re not afraid of their sexuality. And they’ve got the perfect host in Eva. That’s glamour.”

Describing how the “Desperate Housewives” actress commands the red carpet, Cojocaru adds: “Eva has the curves. She walks in, and she’s happy. She has fun. If you don’t have fun on the red carpet, it’s game over.”
