Find out more… ’King Kong’ stole the show at the 2006 Empire Magazine Awards. The monster movie remake - directed by Peter ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Jackson - walked away with the Best Movie award at last night’s ceremony in London, England. The prize - voted for by readers of the respected film magazine - was a late result for the blockbuster after it was ignored at both the Oscars and the Golden Globes. Best British Movie went to Pride & Prejudice, which starred Keira Knightley. Meanwhile, another Brit-flick ‘Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit’ picked up an award for Best directors for Nick Park and Steve Box. Elsewhere, ‘Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith’ won two awards, while the stars of the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise were honored for their outstanding contribution to the British film industry. Hollywood legend Tony Curtis, 80, received the Empire Lifetime Achievement Award for a career which included such classic films as ‘Some Like It Hot’, ‘Spartacus’, and ‘The Defiant Ones’. 2006 Empire Magazine Awards Winners:
