Thanks for taking note that Snowball is at a parrot rescue. This singing & dancing bird was relinquished likely because birds are demanding, very loud, messy, expensive to keep, require special foods, & they bite! Not all birds will dance & talk. Parrots are long-lived & one of the most difficult animals to keep. They are wild animals, not domesticated. Birds need socialization, time out of their cages, flight, toys, proper perches, avian veterinarians, & a nontoxic environment. Snowball’s former guardian found him too much to deal with, & is not alone! Thousands of birds are in rescues & languishing in basements, garages, etc because their guardians were not prepared for a sexually mature parrot. Birds are often bred in mills or large commercial breeding operations. Good rescues such as Project Perry & Foster Parrots often are filled to capacity.
