Britney Spears: Better Late Than Never

Just as we were reaching the point of utter disbelief, Britney Spears finally showed up at her Los Angeles court hearing.  How’s that for impressing the judge?

Early this morning, the “Gimme More” singer’s assistant, as well as her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, arrived at the L.A. Superior Court for the commencement of the proceedings.  But Brit was nowhere to be found.

Britney Spears Meltdown Update

As an update to the Gossip Girls story on Britney Spears’ latest meltdown, it has been reported that the “Gimme More” singer has been placed on a minimum 72-hour lockdown (known as a 5150) at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Spears’ court-appointed child monitor reportedly called the police last night when Britney locked herself in a room with her son Jayden James.

Britney Spears Taken to Hospital After Custody Standoff

It was a chaotic night at the Spears household, as police were called to Britney’s home in a custody dispute that “lasted nearly three hours before an intoxicated Spears reportedly turned over her children to ex-husband Kevin Federline.”

Officer Jason Lee, a police spokesman, told City News Service: “Officers were called to the home around 8 p.m. on Thursday, and the 26-year-old singer turned over the children around 10:50 p.m.”

Britney Spears is a No-Show… Again

Okay, you may think we’re joking here, but we’re not.  Reportedly there was a fifth deposition scheduled in the Britney Spears/Kevin Federline custody case yesterday.  And the “Piece of Me” singer, again, failed to show up.

A source close to Brit told press, “Her whole life has become insane and it’s impossible for anyone to get through to her.” But legal insiders are citing the fact that her lawyer (the third one in a row) is trying to quit the case as her reason for not being there.

K-Fed’s Lawyer Grows Impatient with Britney Spears

Given her tendency to blow off her deposition dates, Britney Spears is gaining a reputation for stalling her custody case with Kevin Federline.  But that’s all about to change.

The “Piece of Me” singer missed her most recent court-ordered deposition on December 12th because she claimed she was too ill to show up.  But the fact that she was photographed out all over town later that night has caused K-Fed’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, to toughen up on her.
