In a movie news update, actor William H Macy is reportedly set to make his feature film directorial debut. Helping to make his job a little easier, actress Salma Hayek has agreed to a starring role in the film ‘Keep Coming Back’.

The academy-award nominated actress will play the role of an alcoholic ex-stripper, according to Contactmusic.

The story, written by Will Aldis, is about “a good teenager with a bad heart condition and a crush on Hayek’s stipper character, who is twice his age. He opts to join her Alcoholics Anonymous group just so he can be in the same room with her,” according to imdb.

Salma Hayek Saved By Dog; Wins Golden Globe

Salma Hayek’s dog saved her life on the day of the Golden Globe Awards.

Salma fell asleep in her home when her dog, Diva, alerted her to a gas leak in the house.

The lovely Ms. Hayek told Us Weekly magazine: “I had a headache and went to lie down when Diva woke me up grabbing my sleeve in her mouth and trying to pull me out of the house. Then I realized the gas was on!”

Later that day, Salma’s hit tv show, Ugly Betty, cemented its position as US television’s biggest new hit. It did so by winning two awards at the 2007 Golden Globes ceremony.

Geena Davis and James Woods announced Ugly Betty as the winner of the award for Best Television Series - Musical Or Comedy, and the show’s entire cast made their way on to the stage.

The Scoop On Bandidas

It’s movie night, so grab your popcorn and flip on that brand new plasma television that you got for the holidays. Bandidas, starring Salma with her good friend Penelope Cruz, came out this week. In short, the hot new movie release is a comedy-adventure set in 1888 Mexico, in which two women – one a European-educated sophisticate, the other a rough-and-tumble peasant — reluctantly join forces to fight a ruthless enforcer… by becoming celebrated bank robbers.

Perhaps there was some doubt that a western chick-flick would succeed, because Bandidas was never released theatrically. Western comedies are notorious for failing in the box office, and this may have been another reason.

A respected movie review source offered the following description of the film: “Salma and Penelope are Sara and Maria, two Mexican women of completely different backgrounds who band together to rob Mexican banks when a greedy political figure from America begins stealing land from poor landowners to build train track down Mexico. When the women cause enough trouble robbing the banks an expert is brought in, but the women convince him to help them when they take him hostage.”

The DVD contains an audio commentary track with Salma and Penelope, in which the ladies talk about how they made the director and producers nervous when they would speak in Spanish to each other on set, which was not understood by the people in charge. There is also a featurette on the two actresses.

Walker comments on: Reese Witherspoon Fights Domestic Violence in the UK

Good for her. I feel like domestic violence is the red-headed step-child of violence issues. It’s easy to speak out against government-induced famine, or wars that kill civilians, or rape. But domestic violence is a very sensitive issue because it is so common! I’m glad Reese is getting people talking.

Another voice brave enough to speak on domestic violence is that of Marala Scott, author of the book, “In Our House: Perception vs. Reality.” She is specifically interested in the “Indicators of an Abuser,” a tool she developed to help people recognize patterns in others (or in themselves) that might signify abusive tendencies in the future. Really fascinating stuff, that - you can see them here.

Keep up the good work, Reese!

N.J. comments on: Adam Lambert: More Cancellations

ABC is really showing their true colors right now…

They invited Adam Lambert to do the closing numer on that awards show, they WANTED it to be racy and risky and announced the “Shocking” performance a dozen times throughout the show.

And now that the’ve used him to garner ratings they throw him under the bus???

This has nothing to do with his performance, this is a witch hunt. Nothing else!

And just because Adam Lambert is gay nobody dares to speak up… it’s disgusting.

These are not the “values” I want my children to learn, I will no longer allow them to watch ABC or any affiliated companies.
ABC is dead to me and my family and I’m encouragin all my friends to boycot them, too.
We will not support hatred and homophobia!
Shame on you, ABC!!!
