Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal Split… Again

For the second time, Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal have put an end to their tumultuous relationship. And it looks as if this may have been the final go at a romance that’s been anything but steady.

The two were last together at a press conference for Rendition at Toronto’s Film Festival, barely making eye contact the entire time. Keeping their distance from one another, it seemed quite obvious the two were not on good terms.

Reese Witherspoon Opens Up About Divorce

Reese Witherspoon’s usually a really shy, private woman.  But in a recent interview, the Sweet Home Alabama actress shared some of the pain that she was feeling after her split from ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.

She told press, “Right around Christmastime I was sitting in a parking lot and I felt like I just couldn’t get out of the car.  It was like, I can’t get out of the car.  I thought, Okay, half of the parking lot has dealt with this. More than half of the parking lot has dealt with this.  Okay, let’s make it a little bigger. Half of this city has dealt with this. Okay, let’s make it a little bigger – half of this country, until I finally got out of the car.”

Big Names, Slow Sales At Toronto Film Festival

Film aficionados and industry insiders awoke Sunday morning to a cold dreary overcast day that seemed to reflect the overall mood at the Toronto International Film Festival. “We’ve been pleasantly surprised by the quality of films here, but there hasn’t been anything we’ve seen with broad commercial appeal just yet,” Lionsgate production head Tom Ortenberg said.

At one point, it appeared that potential buyers were fleeing the preview of the school shooting drama In Bloom, but it turns out they were not running from the dark drama, but rather running to one of the hottest properties, “Nothing Is Private”. This disturbing drama is directed by Alan Ball and looks into the sexual abuse that a 13 year old Arab American girl suffers.

Jake and Reese Promote Rendition In Toronto

With the Toronto International Film Festival’s premier of “Rendition,” Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon were all about promoting their latest project.  Last night, the film was the center of attention and it’s two stars had plenty to say.

With Rendition taking a look at America’s practices of detaining suspected terrorists in foreign jails, there was plenty of fodder for conversation.  Jake Gyllenhaal found himself in deep conversation over the film’s content.

Legally Blonde Musical Hits MTV

For those of you crazy kids that can’t get enough High School Musical, there may be a reprieve.  MTV is planning to air a taping of the Broadway musical “Legally Blonde” and we couldn’t be more excited.

For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of a trip to New York City, there is a theater district on Broadway that is a hotbed for stage shows.  Legally Blonde is a $10 million production, and they’re hoping that by airing it on MTV, that more people will get excited about the show.
