There’s nothing like a romantic trip to Italy to put your sweetie in the mood to get married.  But when Jake Gyllenhaal proposed to Reese Witherspoon on their recent vacation, she turned him down.

While she’s supposedly madly in love with Jake, Reese doesn’t fancy getting married again anytime soon.

It looks like the romance has lived past the demise of their film Rendition.  Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon were spotted on a trip to California’s wine country, and they looked happy as ever.

According to press, the “Legally Blonde” babe and her hunky boyfriend checked into the Carneros Inn in Napa Valley this past Sunday, three weeks after their Italian getaway.  And they went A-list all the way with a private home to spend some quality time together.

The “Legally Blonde” actress showed up at Thursday’s Beat the Odds Awards at the Beverly Hills Hotel.  As it turns out, Reese has quite a history with the CDF.

Despite their off-screen romance, Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon’s collaboration on “Rendition” isn’t setting any ticket sales records.

And it has industry insiders scratching their heads.  Usually when stars of a film hook up in real life, people flock to see the movie.  Remember “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”?  The Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie romance made it into a blockbuster.  Same with “The Break-Up” and “Vanilla Sky.”

Their recent movie Rendition has left something to be desired at the box office, but Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal know how to beat the blues… They headed to Italy.

The two actors hopped on a private jet and set out for Rome.  And according to eyewitnesses, these two don’t have any problems expressing their affection in public.
