Monday, May 14, 2007 Paris Hilton Gets No Love from Patty Hearst
In times of trial, it’s comforting to have the counsel of someone who’s been in your shoes and survived. I think that’s what Paris Hilton was hoping for in Patty Hearst. But unfortunately, Patty seems to have said no to the hotel heiress.
Patty did time in the mid-’70s after she was kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army, and then caught on camera robbing a bank with them. After serving two years in the slammer, Hearst’s sentence was commuted by then-President Jimmy Carter. She later received a pardon from Bill Clinton.

While her attempts at an appeal or pardon are still hanging in the balance, Paris Hilton received good news yesterday (May 10) - with word that she may spend far less than 45 days in the county lock-up. Hilton, sentenced last week, “may spend only three weeks or less behind bars because of a state requirement that grants inmates time off for good behavior and because of overcrowding in the system,” Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore told The Associated Press. posted by at 04:15 PM | (2) comments |

Paris Hilton is starting to get desperate. No longer leaving her impending jail term solely in the hands of her legal team, the hotel heiress has started a little grass roots campaign. The New York Post reports that on her MySpace page, Paris wrote: “My friend Joshua started this petition, please help and sihn it. i LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!” While Paris needs to work on her spelling, the point was made. posted by at 12:53 PM | (1) comments |

After a short-lived firing, Paris Hilton has made nice with the veteran publicist she dumped over the weekend - after faulting him for her imposing 45 day jail sentence.
“I represent Paris and I’m proud to,” Elliot Mintz told Reuters early on Tuesday after a night out with his client. “We had a wonderful evening, we talked, and our media relationship resumes uninterrupted.”

Over the weekend, Paris Hilton made her first public comments since being handed a 45-day jail sentence - without the help of her now former-publicist. Paris described her punishment as cruel and unwarranted and fired her veteran publicist Elliot Mintz, whom she blamed for getting her into the mess. At the probation violation hearing last week, Hilton said Mintz had told her she was permitted to drive for work-related reasons. But Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer rejected these claims as ridiculous and ordered her to show up at the jail by June 5. posted by at 11:23 AM | (0) comments |
