“The Ultimate Gift” Hopes For The Light

”The Ultimate Gift“ is the latest offering by Fox Faith. The film is labeled “an inspirational drama based on a book by Jim Stovall that has apparently sold more than 3 million copies.” The flick boasts a stellar cast that includes James Garner, Brian Dennehy and Abigail Breslin, who comes in fresh off her Oscar-nominated role in “Little Miss Sunshine”.

The movie comes across as a made-for-tv effort that would work perfectly for Hallmark or Lifetime.

‘Brokeback Mountain’ on Human Rights Victims List

Gay cowboys displaying physical affection, and a fictitious reporter/hack from Kazakhstan are just a few to name who have suffered human rights abuses in 2006.  “Brokeback Mountain” and “Borat” may be the most notorious two, but there are many other within the entertainment industry that have grown accustomed to having some of the content that is produced banned or restricted by foreign governments.

In the Washington Post, a source from the State Department was quoted as saying, “foreign governments banned or restricted access to a variety of big and little screen entertainment as well as live events”.

Movie Review: “300” Bombarded by Critics

Released in theaters today, 300 is the product of Frank Miller’s stylized retelling of the battle of Thermopylae in 480 B.C. when King Leonidas and 300 Spartan soldiers notoriously hindered the advancing million man army of the Persian King Xerxes.

“No doubt about it, 300 is a terrific-looking movie, its graphic-novel origins ably translated into images that make you wish you had freeze frame in the theater just to linger over the details and contemplate the use of color.” Wrote R.D. Heldenfels of the
