American Idol’s ‘Idol Gives Back’ Rocks Hollywood

It’s been a staple in American popular culture ever since the first season when Kelly Clarkson became the first “Idol.” And now American Idol is making a huge difference in the lives of the less fortunate… with a little help from their friends.

Last night, the Kodak Theatre in Studio City, California was the place to be for great music, great-looking celebrities and a great cause.  Reportedly six charities were benefittd by the ‘Idol Gives Back’ gig: The Children’s Defense Fund, The Global Fund, Make it Right, Malaria No More, Save the Children, and U.S. Programs and the Children’s Health Fund.

When it comes to audience appeal, singer/actress Miley Cyrus has the corner on the market.  And she showed up at the Kodak Theatre last night to perform a two-song set for the American Idol special, “Idol Gives Back.”

The “Hannah Montana” hottie hit the red carpet looking every bit the bona fide rock star.  She wore a glittery white and silver tank top with a pair of vintage jeans and some fringed-out brown leather boots.

Following a family trip to Lucy’s Cafe earlier in the day, Miley Cyrus was out and about for a little Saturday afternoon shopping in Malibu - getting a surprise request from a die-hard fan along the way.

The Disney tween queen, her mother Leticia and sister Noah opted for a little shopping at James Perse before stopping by the nearby Coffee Bean for a quick pick-me-up.

Enjoying a weekend break from the studio, Miley Cyrus headed out with her mother and sister for a bite to eat in Los Angeles on Saturday (April 5).

Wearing a yellow top, jeans and her signature smile, the Hannah Montana star and her fam ventured past the lined-up paparazzi and on into Lucy’s cafe.

Miley Cyrus Keeps Breaking Records

Miley Cyrus has been working her tail off on her new album, and yesterday the paps caught up with her on the way to the studio once again.  And as always, the “Hannah Montana” actress seemed pleasant and smiled for the shutterbugs.

And why shouldn’t she be smiling?  She just set a new record at Brigham Young University for fastest event sell-out in history- 58,000 tickets in ten minutes.
