2008 Film Independent’s Spirit Award Winners

The 2008 Film Independent’s Spirit Awards have come and gone, with the quirky comedy “Juno” winning the prize for best feature at the Santa Monica ceremony.

The movie’s star, Ellen Page, also earned the best lead actress statuette, while writer Diablo Cody took home the award for best first screenplay.

She’s come a long way since her days as Felicity.  New mother Keri Russell took to the streets of New York City on a playdate with her son River and his pal Violet Affleck accompanied by mommy Jennifer Garner.

The celebrity moms were all bundled up as they strolled through the Big Apple this morning.  Always the media ham, Violet wore one of her fun and crazy hats, while River opted for more of a conservative knit cap.

Gotham Awards Draws Hollywood’s Best

Last night in New York City, the Independent Feature Project held the 17th annual Gotham Awards.  The year’s best indie flicks were recognized, and plenty of stars showed up to see who won.

Hollywood hotties Maggie Gyllenhaal, Uma Thurman, and Keri Russell all showed up looking fine.  And the men were no slouches, either.  Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin represented the male gender with pride.

Keri Russell Goes Wine Tasting, Talks Pregnancy

Keri Russell started off her weekend with a trip to Taste Restaurant in Los Angeles for a wine-tasting party. Despite having a newborn baby to take care off, the former Felicity star found time to make a tray of homemade pastries to share with the attendees.

Speaking of her baby, River Russell Deary, Keri recently got a little sympathy from the hosts of The View after telling them that she spent 38 hours in labor.

An adorable pair, Keri Russell and baby River were spotted making their way through Los Angeles International Airport with the accompaniment of a female friend on Wednesday (November 14).

The former “Felicity” star has been busy promoting her upcoming movie, August Rush, which hits theaters on November 23rd. Meanwhile, contrary to recent reports, the Golden Globe winning actress said that she hasn’t signed on to appear in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming “Star Trek” movie.
