Kanye West is Back on the Market

It’s been an emotional couple of months for him, with his mother passing away late last year.  And now Kanye West has broken off his engagement to Alexis Phifer after a relationship of ups and downs.

A source close to the couple told press, “Kanye is possessed by the tour and everything going on and just couldn’t keep it going. They are still friends and have broken up and gotten back together before, so it could work out.”

She’s been spotted taking in the latest styles at the Chanel and Sonia Rykiel shows, and at a Friday night party, Rihanna hit the stage as Paris Fashion Week comes to a close.

The Barbados babe treated an A-list audience to “a 20-minute set at the showcase of crystal jeweler Swarovski’s new collection,” a source tells.

Last night was a bittersweet time for Kanye West.  Having lost his mother last November, the “Jesus Walks” rapper made sure she was remembered via his Grammy Awards performance.

Following his performance of “Stronger,” Kanye launched into a low-key version of “Hey Mama.” Tears welled up in his eyes as his voice broke throughout the performance.

He’s just been nominated for a total of eight Grammy Awards, and Kanye West seems pretty darn pleased with the news.  The “Jesus Walks” rapper shopped for furniture in West Hollywood yesterday, sporting a positive vibe.

As for his professional life, it sounds like he’s still taking some time to deal with the recent death of his mother.
