Will Justin Timberlake do it again?

Pop superstar Justin Timberlake is rumoured to be planning to spoof his infamous Super Bowl incident with Janet Jackson - in a new movie Played.

The ‘N Sync star is set to appear alongside funnyman Rob Schneider in the comedy movie - which will also feature cameos by Ashton Kutcher and Adam Sandler.

An insider close to Timberlake says, “It’s a cameo in which he makes a reference to the whole thing.”

“This whole thing just won’t go away, so I guess he figures he might as well have fun with it.”

Reference to Timberlake’s role has also appeared on movie website Imdb.com, but the singer’s spokesperson tells gossip website The Scoop the story is “not true”.

Has Justin Timberlake’s all-access pass to the black entertainment universe been revoked? Few white artists have enjoyed as much support among African-Americans as Timberlake, thanks to a debut solo CD jammed with classic R&B and tracks produced by the likes of hip-hop maestro Timbaland. Just last year he was nominated for best male artist at the Soul Train Music Awards, and he performed during the ceremony to raucous applause, cementing his status as a less-talented version of reigning R&B prince Usher. But some believe he showed his true color after Janet Jackson’s wardrobe infamously malfunctioned at the Super Bowl?and, in their view, allowed her to take all the heat for what happened. “If I do recall, there were two people on that stage,” says actress-rapper Queen Latifah. “He loses a lot of my respect for not taking responsibility for his actions. I think that was real shady on his part.”

Timberlake, who had a brief fling with Jackson last year, laughed off the boob-baring brouhaha at first. But as soon as it exploded into a scandal, he began making appearances on talk shows during which he issued sniffling apologies and implied that he was the unwitting victim of a planned publicity stunt. Tellingly, some think, he never once spoke out in Jackson’s defense. It was particularly galling to those who believe that Timberlake has become rich off urban culture. “It’s just maddening because he was as black as black could be until Super Bowl night,” says a close friend of Jackson’s. “In his mind, he was as black as 50 Cent because he knew the words to a Marvin Gaye song. He rolled in both worlds, living it up. But as soon as something went wrong, we got a chance to see how white he really was. He left Janet hanging big time, and she’s still hurt by that.”

Janet Jackson says, “The decision to have a costume reveal at the end of my halftime performance was made after final rehearsals.”

Justin Timberlake now says, “We love giving you all something to talk about.”

Les Mooves says, “I want to offer my personal assurances that we are looking into this matter and will do everything we can to get to the bottom of it.”

The NFL says, “MTV will never be invited back to produce a halftime show.”

Michael Powell of the FCC says, “...celebration was tainted by a classless, crass and deplorable stunt. Our nation’s children, parents and citizens deserve better.”

I say, “Get over it already.. move on. It happened, let’s just say ‘oops’ and forget about it. So what, like we’ve never seen a boob before. And hey, in Europe all the girls are topless on the beach. Are we THIS uptight in America - that a little boobage gets our panties in such a twist? Gee whiz folks. Next they’ll be attacking the breast feeding moms again! Remember when everyone was furious about mom’s breastfeeding in public???? Get over it. Go find something better to do with your time.”

Not quite a singer but still quite a sensation, Britney Spears and her love hangover continue to throb in the tabloids. After (dis)gracing the cover of every mag in the known universe last week with the aftermath of her 55-hour marriage to childhood chum Jason Allen Alexander, this week we have...the after-aftermath. The Us cover story screams, “Britney’s bad behavior creates heartache and career chaos,” noting she missed a video shoot for Showtime and bailed on a Seventeen cover. A Star headline reads, “Ex-Groom Begs: Marry Me Again!” (Put me on the waiting list, too!) Even if Spears’ camp did pay insta-ex-hubby $560,000 ($10,000 an hour) to go away, as the National Enquirer reports, it may seem like a bargain, if you believe any publicity is good publicity. But not necessarily, as it turns out. Sales of Brit’s new CD In the Zone plummeted from 205,000 to 69,000 the week after the wedding. Need more drama? (Of course you do!) Us also says Spears’ ex Justin Timberlake reportedly got into a shouting match with his fellow former Mousketeer after Britney’s mom urged Justin to call and show support.
