Johnny Depp: Clean Shaven!

We haven’t seen him this clean cut since his days as “Ed Wood” way back in the day.  And Johnny Depp seems to be embracing the cleaned-up look.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor was spotted on the set of his new movie “Public Enemies” on Wednesday in full period costume.  He graciously waved to fans in between takes, and looked to be enjoying himself.

Causing a small town frenzy, Johnny Depp took to the set of his new movie in Columbus, Wisconsin on Monday (March 17).

The Pirates of the Caribbean heartthrob and his Hollywood crew are filming Public Enemies, in which Depp plays 1930’s bank robber John Dillinger.

2008 Academy Award Nominations Announced

While the writers’ strike has put Hollywood’s biggest night in jeopardy, nominations for the 80th annual Academy Awards were announced as scheduled earlier this morning.

Officially, the Academy claims to be moving ahead with the red carpet and awards ceremony as usual, with spokeswoman Leslie Unger telling press: “We are planning to have our show at the Kodak Theatre with an audience of 3,300 people and a television audience significantly larger than that.”
