Travolta and Pfeiffer To Remake Hairspray

John Travolta will star in a remake of the film Hairspray.  With Adam Shankman directing, the new film features Michelle Pfeiffer as the villainous TV station owner and mother of Tracy’s rival, Queen Latifah as the saucy record-shop owner Motormouth Maybelle, Amanda Bynes as Tracy’s best pal and Christopher Walken as Tracy’s dad and Edna’s husband.

Hairspray is the story of Tracy Turnblad, a Baltimore girl who takes a stand for civil rights in the Sixties by leading the charge to integrate a teen dance show on television. Travolta plays Tracy’s mom, Edna, and says even he got a shock the first time he saw a photo of himself in full make-up, with a huge bust and booty.

“Wild Hogs” Soars To The Top

The biker friendly film ”Wild Hogs“ and its star-studded cast of John Travolta, Martin Lawrence, William H. Macy and Tim Allen claimed the number one spot at the box office with a $38 million take.

Walt Disney Co. was thrilled by the movie’s debut earnings. Disney president of distribution Chuck Viane told the media why the film did so well. “It’s so easy to see in the material how much fun they were having together. The audience was looking for that first great comedy of the year,”

John Travolta had quite the interesting interview with MTV recently, in which the actor dished on young Hollywood stars, including a personal crush on a certain someone.

Travolta’s biggest confession was that he has a crush on Scarlet Johansson. The 53-year-old actor thinks Scarlett, 22, is the most beautiful and talented actress of her generation. He told MTV: “I adore Scarlett. She has an old-time essence about her. She is a classic type. She’ll be around forever.”
