Celebrity Mothers Set The Bar High

It can be intimidating for new mothers these days.  In addition to the whole new world of taking care of a newborn and maintaining a family, there is this emerging phenomenon of “have it all” mothers in Hollywood.  Every time you turn on the television or hop on the Internet there are constant images of celebrity children (both biological and adopted) alongside their enormously successful movie star moms.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson, Angelina Jolie, Katie Holmes and Gwen Stefani top the list of celeb mommies that appear to have paired career success with motherhood. On the other side of that coin are experts that say that such a perception is unrealistic. 

Costume Institute Gala: Hollywood Style At Its Best

The New York Metropolitan Museum of Art was the place to be and be seen on Monday night (May 7). The Met played host to this year’s Costume Institute Gala in honor of Paul Poiret.

Poiret was a renowned pre-World War II fashion designer, who was the first to use draping in dressmaking and is credited with launching the suspender belt, flesh-colored stockings, the sack dress and culottes.

The Affleck Family Returns From Mexico

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner arrived at LAX airport on Sunday night, returning from their week-long Mexican vacation. The Hollywood super-couple made the trip accompanied by their 17-month-old daughter Violet.

Jennifer is adamant about being a hands-on mother, as she and Violet are frequently spotted playing and shopping together. Garner told Style magazine that she feels like a “love-struck teenager” with her daughter: “I don’t want to miss a second with Violet.”

Bennifer Expecting Second Child?

The rumor mill is churning with word that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are expecting their second child.

Reports have started based on Jennifer’s recent visit to a doctor’s office “sporting a visible bump.”

A witness told New Weekly magazine: “She was very happy and glowing. She touched her stomach for a moment. She looked pregnant.”

Jennifer Garner: Baby Weight Doesn’t Melt Away

Jennifer Garner wasn’t sure why her baby weight wasn’t going away. Garner gave birth to daughter Violet in December of 2005. After Violet’s birth, Garner expected her baby weight to just magically melt away. Not so.

Garner, once ABC’s hard-bodied secret agent on Alias, now brags that she spent her first year of motherhood after giving birth to Violet, 1, playing with her daughter and eating croissants instead of sweating on the treadmill. “I wasn’t that into getting back into shape; I was so all about being with my baby,” she told People.
