Swank, Theron, and Foxx Hand Out HFPA Grants

Sometimes in the movie industry, the establishment gives back to the people.  And that’s just what happened at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Grant Ceremony, with plenty of star power to go around.

A-listers like Hilary Swank, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Eva Mendes, Charlize Theron, and Jaime Foxx showed up to hand out $1.2 million in grants to various filmmaking schools and programs.

Charlize Theron’s Dior Watch Lawsuit

Charlize Theron, who spent the past few days attending Cinevegas, has just been sued by a watchmaker over her wearing of a Dior watch.

The Oscar-winning actress faces legal troubles at the hands of watchmakers at Raymond Weil for wearing the wrong timepiece at a 2006 Texas film festival.

Charlize Theron Sued By Watch Maker

In an ap news release, Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil has filed a breach of contract lawsuit against Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron. In court papers filed in state Supreme Court on Monday, Weil said Theron signed an endorsement deal saying that from October 2005 through December 2006 she would only wear Weil’s high-end watches.

That deal allowed Weil to use Theron’s photographs in its advertisements in exchange for “substantial funds,” court papers said.

Meanwhile, Theron had an endorsement deal to promote a Dior perfume, Weil’s lawsuit said. The 31-year-old actress “was actually photographed wearing a watch from the Christian Dior line” at a March 14, 2006, news conference at a film festival in Austin, Texas, court papers said. A photo of her wearing the watch is included as an exhibit.
