Hilton Cousin Settles Crash Lawsuit; Paris Sings

The legal spotlight never seems to leave Paris Hilton, but this time there will be no jail time. Paris’ cousin, Brooke Brinson, settled a three year old lawsuit in which Brinson and Paris were taken to court by crash victims Ivan Alvarez and Monica Delgado.

The case: Brinson reportedly caused a four lane car crash on an LA freeway while driving the socialite’s car. Alvarez and Delgado were involved in the crash with their child, claiming damages resulting from the accident. 

John Lovitz Beat Up Andy Dick

Usually comedians are standing up on a stage making people laugh so hard that they fall over.  But sometimes, as in Jon Lovitz’s case, they’re knocking people over by other means.

Last week Jon Lovitz beat the crap out of Andy Dick.  It all happened at the legendary Laugh Factory, where the owner, Jamie Masada witnessed the whole thing.  He told press, “Jon picked Andy up by the head and smashed him into the bar four or five times, and blood started pouring out of his nose.”

Criss Angel Rebounds With Lindsay Lohan

With all the legal woes surrounding his failed relationship with Cameron Diaz, Criss Angel has set his sights on newly rehabbed Lindsay Lohan.

The two were seen hand in hand at a club in Las Vegas this past weekend, where Lindsay was surprisingly sober.  She has been wearing an alcohol-monitoring bracelet to manage her alcohol intake. 

Britney Spears’ Puppy Love

Britney Spears has enlisted the loyalty of a new companion, and he’s hairier than those of the past… it’s a puppy!  Brit picked up her new furry friend yesterday, and paraded it around town.  Hey, it needs to get used to constant media attention if it’s going to have Brit as it’s master, right?

Maybe the new puppy was to divert her attention to the turmoil that’s reportedly going on between the “Do Something” singer and the Department of Child Services.  Apparently they’re investigating a claim that Brit is an unfit mother. 

Another Delay In Nicole Richie’s Case

Whoever described the justice system in America as “swift” never observed the legal scene in Los Angeles.  Nicole Richie won’t be beginning her trial on charges of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol until the middle of next month.

Richie’s legal team decided that it would be a good idea to delay the case again, this time in favor of utilizing the services of a defense expert to challenge the evidence in the case.
