The Sopranos Wins Outstanding Drama Series

Last night marked the 59th Anniversary of the Emmy Awards.  And the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles was packed by Hollywood’s A-list to see who won what.  And “The Sopranos” walked away with three awards, including the coveted “Outstanding Drama Series” honors.

The now-defunct HBO series was lucky to win the award, as it rarely goes to a show that has been canceled.  Tony and the gang also snagged trophies for “Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series” and “Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series.”

Christina Aguilera and Tony Bennett Shine At Emmys

Taking center stage and knocking the crowd back on its feet, Christina Aguilera and Tony Bennett demonstrated why they both rank at the top of their profession, delivering a classy version of “Steppin’ Out (With My Baby)” at the 57th Annual Emmy Awards show.

Dressed in a stunning magenta dress and penguin suit respectively, Christina and Tony blended their voices to perfection as they performed the duet with the accompaniment of a classic pianist.

Katherine Heigl Wins Emmy For ‘Best Supporting Actress’

Grey’s Anatomy received ten nominations for the Emmy’s this year, and nothing was more heavily contested than Best Supporting Actress.  Three stars from Grey’s (Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, and Chandra Wilson) were nominated for the category, and judging their reactions, it truly was a surprise.

In the end, it was the ‘Knocked Up’ star, Katherine Heigl, who stole the honors for her reprisal of the role of Isobel ‘Izzie’ Stevens.  Heigl looked absolutely stunning in a white gown as she accepted her Emmy for Best Supporting Actress.

Grey’s Anatomy: 10 Emmy Nominations

Racking up an extremely impressive 10 Emmy nominations, the hit drama series Grey’s Anatomy will head into the start of its new season with some strong momentum. The breakdown for the individual nominations is as follows:
