GLAAD Awards Toast Sunshine, Betty and Aniston

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) presented the initial installment of their annual awards in LA on Saturday night. The big winners included ”Little Miss Sunshine,” ”Ugly Betty,” and Jennifer Aniston.

During the ceremony, GLAAD handed out five of its 42 annual awards, with the rest being presented April 28th in San Francisco and May 10th in Florida.

Nicole Kidman Receives Aussie Award

Nicole Kidman was awarded Australia’s top civil honor, the Companion of the Order of Australia, on Friday.

Seen as an equivalent to an English knighthood, the award was bestowed upon Kidman for her work promoting women and children’s health and cancer research.

Petra Nemcova’s Happy Hearts Honor

Petra Nemcova hasn’t skipped a beat since splitting with James Blunt in February. The couple’s break-up was announced amidst sightings of Blunt partying with Lindsay Lohan. Not at all fazed, the beautiful Nemcova rather enjoys the single life.

“I am having a great time!” the 27-year-old model told People on Tuesday at the Br!ck Awards, which honor young people working toward social change.

Johansson Tops Alba For Glamour’s Sexiest Body

Scarlett Johansson has won a Glamour magazine poll for the sexiest body in the world. While these polls carry little real meaning, it’s always interesting to see how they rank the current “IT” girls.

With the top slot, Scarlett may indeed be redefining what men and women consider sexy by returning to an old standard of beauty.

Glamour spoke about the “Lost In Translation” actress, stating, “With curves to rival Marilyn Monroe, Scarlett embraces old-school Hollywood style and exudes body confidence. Does she ever have an off day? In a word, no. It seems that curves are in and size zeroes are not the most admired.”

In a surprise to some movie fans, Will Smith was just named the most powerful actor on the planet.

The 38-year-old ‘Men In Black’ star knocked Tom Cruise off of his perch, snagging the top spot in US magazine Newsweek’s annual list.
