Britney’s launching a Makeup & Perfume Line

NEW YORK (AP)—Pop star Britney Spears has signed a deal with Elizabeth Arden Inc. to develop and market her own line of perfumes and cosmetics, the company said Friday.

Spears’ first product will be a fragrance, which will be launched in the fall at department stores, the New York-based company said, adding that Spears is “personally involved” with all aspects of developing the product.

“We are delighted to be working with Britney Spears,” said Paul West, president of Elizabeth Arden.

“She is a talented, fashionable woman who appeals to a young and international consumer base.”

Gossips are reporting that Hilton and new beau Nick Carter are reportedly plotting to copy Britney Spears and marry in a Las Vegas chapel.

The socialite and her Backstreet Boy friend have been inseparable since they started dating just after Christmas, and now they’re planning to exchange wedding vows in a romantic Valentine’s Day ceremony.

Even if Spears’ camp did pay insta-ex-hubby $560,000 ($10,000 an hour) to go away, as the National Enquirer reports, it may seem like a bargain, if you believe any publicity is good publicity. But not necessarily, as it turns out. Sales of Brit’s new CD In the Zone plummeted from 205,000 to 69,000 the week after the wedding. Need more drama? (Of course you do!) Us also says Spears’ ex Justin Timberlake reportedly got into a shouting match with his fellow former Mousketeer after Britney’s mom urged Justin to call and show support.
