He’s played to millions of fans, and raised millions of dollars for humanitarian efforts. And Bono has just won another admirer; Spanish babe Penelope Cruz. It’s his relentless pursuit of making the world a better place that has the Vanilla Sky actress singing the singer’s praises. “He is so powerful yet so human. Seeing him investing all his time and effort is something to admire. He’s changing the world.” posted by at 11:45 AM | (3) comments |

The always charitable rock-star Bono became a knight of the British empire Thursday. Showing his humility and sense of humor, Bono graciously accepted, but would prefer that he not be called Sir Bono. “You have permission to call me anything you want… except sir, all right? Lord of lords, your demigodness, that’ll do,” the 46-year-old U2 frontman told reporters “after he was crowned a Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in a jokey, informal ceremony in the Dublin home of British Ambassador David Reddaway,” according to the Post Star. posted by at 02:06 PM | (0) comments |

Where can I get Halle’s? Does anyone know? Walker comments on: Reese Witherspoon Fights Domestic Violence in the UK Good for her. I feel like domestic violence is the red-headed step-child of violence issues. It’s easy to speak out against government-induced famine, or wars that kill civilians, or rape. But domestic violence is a very sensitive issue because it is so common! I’m glad Reese is getting people talking. Another voice brave enough to speak on domestic violence is that of Marala Scott, author of the book, “In Our House: Perception vs. Reality.” She is specifically interested in the “Indicators of an Abuser,” a tool she developed to help people recognize patterns in others (or in themselves) that might signify abusive tendencies in the future. Really fascinating stuff, that - you can see them here. Keep up the good work, Reese!
