David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell: Lunch Date

They’ve been an item ever since he asked her out on live TV, and yesterday David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell were spotted having a romantic lunch date in Santa Monica.

The “American Idol” alums held hands and looked very lovey-dovey, with Cook sporting a black t-shirt with a vest, charcoal wash jeans, and Converse All-Stars while Kim sported a red scoopneck shirt, cropped vest, black stretch pants, and knee-high boots.

David Cook Jets Out of LAX

He had a great time at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards last night, but David Cook didn’t stick around for long.  Shortly after the gig he was spotted catching a flight at LAX International Airport.

The American Idol champ looked a bit worn out as he went through the security checkpoint, toting a backpack on his back and his trusty guitar by his side.

She has been spending time in New York City with Ryan Adams as of late, but yesterday Mandy Moore looked to be getting back to her normal routine on the West Coast.

Given the beautiful weather in Beverly Hills, the “All Good Things” songstress saw fit to get a little shopping in, following a visit to a friend’s house in Sherman Oaks.

David Cook Talks Idol Win

He’s the latest in a long line of American Idol season winners, and David Cook seems to be taking his massive victory in stride.  Last night after he was announced as the Season 7 champ, the Blue Springs, Mo bartender talked to press about his experience thus far.

Maintaining an air of humility, David said that he’s up for whatever his Idol status brings his way.  “I actually walked into this with no expectations and I’m walking out of it with no expectations. This show is a springboard, but it’s still a crapshoot. I could easily walk out of this arena and be just a regular Joe tomorrow. I hope that’s not the case. It’s kind of up to everybody else.”

David Cook is an American Idol

After a grueling season that saw a ton of talent and heart from all of the contestants, David Cook has been crowned the newest American Idol.

During last night’s season finale (which included performances from the likes of Carrie Underwood and the Jonas Brothers) at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California, the 25-year-old Blue Springs, Mo bartender was revealed as the victor, having garnered 12 million more votes than his competitor, 17-year-old David Archuleta (there were over 97 million votes cast).
