Every year the BET Awards is an event to behold. And last night there was plenty of pomp and circumstance, as well as a plethora of memorable performances. Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium was packed to its 6,300-seat capacity as musical acts from the past joined today’s hottest performers for some noteworthy collaborations. For instance, Alicia Keys performed “Weak” with SWV, “Hold On” with En Vogue, and “Waterfalls” with Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins and Rozonda “Chili” Thomas from TLC. posted by at 09:06 AM | (2) comments |

Where can I get Halle’s? Does anyone know? Walker comments on: Reese Witherspoon Fights Domestic Violence in the UK Good for her. I feel like domestic violence is the red-headed step-child of violence issues. It’s easy to speak out against government-induced famine, or wars that kill civilians, or rape. But domestic violence is a very sensitive issue because it is so common! I’m glad Reese is getting people talking. Another voice brave enough to speak on domestic violence is that of Marala Scott, author of the book, “In Our House: Perception vs. Reality.” She is specifically interested in the “Indicators of an Abuser,” a tool she developed to help people recognize patterns in others (or in themselves) that might signify abusive tendencies in the future. Really fascinating stuff, that - you can see them here. Keep up the good work, Reese!
