Wesley Snipes Gets 3-Year Jail Sentence

With the decision handed down on Thursday (April 24), U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges announced in an Ocala, Fla., courtroom that Wesley Snipes will be serving three years in jail on charges of tax evasion.

After the sentence was read and with his wife looking on, Snipes said to the judge: “I’m very sorry for my mistakes and errors. I apologize to my family, the court and the community. I’ve asked the court to show me mercy and the opportunity to make things right.”

Wesley Snipes: Not Guilty of Tax Fraud

If you haven’t been keeping up, here’s a quick summary: Wesley Snipes has been locked in a legal battle with the Internal Revenue Service over charges of tax fraud and failing to file a tax return.  And yesterday he got some good news.

The “Blade” actor was acquitted of two felonies, including conspiracy to commit tax fraud.  He was also deemed ‘not guilty’ of three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file a tax return.

Wesley Snipes Welcomes New Son

Wesley Snipes and his wife Nakyung ‘Nikki’ Park welcomed their new son Alimayu Moa-T this past Monday.  It is the second child for the couple.

Snipes’ rep said that both the mother and baby are doing fine.  The specifics of the newborn have not yet been released.
