When you’re on the verge of going to jail, and the world just found out that you’re pregnant, there’s nothing like a little support from your rich and famous dad to make you feel better.  Just ask Nicole Richie. 

Nicole’s dad, Lionel had been publicly supporting her, saying that she’s just caught up in an unfortunate series of events.  Lionel claims that the modern technology used to monitor celebrities makes it hard for them to be themselves without looking bad.

If all the buzz is true, we’ll have a new celebrity baby on the way soon.  Suri Cruise, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, and the Federline-Spears boys will get to introduce Nicole Richie and Joel Madden’s child to life as a celebrity baby.

That’s right… there are unconfirmed rumors that Nicole Richie is pregnant by her boyfriend Joel Madden.  And according to In Touch magazine, the two plan to wed later this summer.

The Simple Life star was arrested for a DUI this past December, and has been ordered by a judge to actually stand trial for the charges beginning July 11th.  And it seems that the judicial system’s patience for celebrities has come to an end.

In the tradition of Hollywood badgirls, Nicole Richie has had her fair share of run-ins with the law.  But she’s hoping that she doesn’t have to pay the hefty price like her “Simple Life” co-star Paris Hilton.  Richie keeps the hope alive that she won’t do time for her DUI.

During her “Late Show with David Letterman” appearance last night (June 6), Nicole was candid about her upcoming court date.  “I’m just keeping my fingers crossed, of course.  I’m scared also but I’m willing to face whatever consequences come my way and I take responsibility for what I’ve done.”
