Johnny Depp On The Set Of ‘Sweeney Todd’

Red-hot heartthrob, Johnny Depp is back on the set. Principal photography has begun in London on ’Sweeney Todd,’ pairing the quirky actor with his longtime collaborator, director Tim Burton.

Depp plays the main character in the film, which is a screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s macabre musical about a vengeful London barber in 19th-century London, according to CBS reports.

Johnny Depp Selects Mira Nair to Direct Shantaram

Johnny Depp has chosen filmmaker Mira Nair to direct his new film, Shantaram. The movie will star Depp in the lead role, and will be co-produced by Depp’s Infinitum Nihil and Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B, who bought the rights to the Gregory David Roberts-penned book for $2 million, according to a Starpulse report.

Nair, who was born in India and directed Monsoon Wedding in 2001, admits she is a big fan of the book and is looking forward to the challenge of working behind the camera with Depp.

I totally agree with this list, well except for Tom Cruise. He’s a member of my “who gives a damn” list.  Johnny is tops on my list, actually Johnny Depp is the tops on every single list I could ever dream up.  And if he’s in that Captain Jack Sparrow costume, he’s......... okay okay I’ll spare you all my fantasies!!! Let’s just say he deserves his spot on the top of the list.

The only person missing from the top 10 that I probably would have given my vote to was Orlando Bloom. He came in at #17. Can you believe it? He would be #2 on my list.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest Premiere

The coundown has begun!!!!! Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest premiered last night at Disneyland. Looking at the photo above, they all look absolutely HOT HOT HOT.  But here’s how they looked at the movie premiere.  Hmmm, drastic difference.  I’m more of a Jack Sparrow fan than a Johnny Depp fan, so I’ll take him in character anyday mate!!!!!! Yummy! I can’t wait until July 7th.

2006 Empire Magazine Awards Winners

’King Kong’ stole the show at the 2006 Empire Magazine Awards. The monster movie remake - directed by Peter ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Jackson - walked away with the Best Movie award at last night’s ceremony in London, England.

The prize - voted for by readers of the respected film magazine - was a late result for the blockbuster after it was ignored at both the Oscars and the Golden Globes.

Best British Movie went to Pride & Prejudice, which starred Keira Knightley. Meanwhile, another Brit-flick ‘Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit’ picked up an award for Best directors for Nick Park and Steve Box.

Elsewhere, ‘Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith’ won two awards, while the stars of the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise were honored for their outstanding contribution to the British film industry. Hollywood legend Tony Curtis, 80, received the Empire Lifetime Achievement Award for a career which included such classic films as ‘Some Like It Hot’, ‘Spartacus’, and ‘The Defiant Ones’.
