2009 ACM Awards: The Show, The Winners

The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas was the place to be on Sunday night (April 5) for all things country, as the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards arrived.

Hosted by Reba McEntire, the big shindig kicked off with an ensemble performance by Brooks & Dunn, featuring Taylor Swift, Sugarland, Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts.  McEntire exclaimed, “What an opening!  Now that’s what I call a stimulus package!”

Held at MGM Grand Garden Arena, Taylor is among a long list of star-studded performers ready to take the stage when the show airs live on CBS at 8PM ET.

The “7 Things” cutie looked elated at the night’s success as he celebrated her film’s premiere with brother Trace, sister Brandi, mother Tish and father Billy Ray.

Taylor Swift Checks Out “Hannah Montana” Premiere

She shared the Grammy stage with Miley Cyrus for a duet earlier this year, and last night (April 2) Taylor Swift came out to support her gal pal at the premiere of “Hannah Montana: The Movie.”

The “Should’ve Said No” songstress was all smiles as she arrived at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, sporting a strapless black beaded dress with black heels.

It’s no secret that Taylor Swift’s heart was broken when she split with Joe Jonas last year.  And just in case there was any doubt, she wrote “Forever and Always” as a means of dealing with the hurt.

Miss Swift told press, “Writing songs about people is the only way I know how to do things.  I mean, I can’t wish I hadn’t written a song about someone, because if I hadn’t, that song wouldn’t exist. I just don’t find any joy in writing about things I haven’t been through.”
