American Idol is a great jumping-off point for many pop star hopefuls.  But Katharine McPhee seems to be taking her celebrity to a place that Idol alumni have never gone before.

With her photo spread in Stuff magazine’s August issue, Katharine is proving that she’s one hot mama.  The lack of clothes in her cover shot is a symptom of her seldom seen wild attitude. 

Jessica Biel Promotes Tolerance, Chuck and Larry

When she’s not frolicking around Western Europe with Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel makes movies.  And in her latest film, “I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry,” Biel says there is a strong message of celebrating differences.

Of the film’s message, Biel said, “I want people to take away the message that you should celebrate people’s differences. That’s what’s so wonderful about so many different people in this world, that we are so different and no one has the right to choose or judge who you fall in love with and who you want to spend your life with.”

Katharine gets pretty personal about her life in the interview with the magazine. “There are different sides of me. On American Idol, people saw the side that is very professional and put together. But there’s this other side of me that’s outgoing, energetic, and wild—and did really stupid things in college.”

Katharine McPhee Helps Hilary Clinton

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton held an outdoor campaign in Washington DC to rally with supporters last evening (June 6). There to help her election cause was American Idoler Katharine McPhee.

The event, held on a downtown parking lot during rush hour, seemed to be composed of a mostly female crowd. “They clicked in 8,000 people,” Clinton announced. “We are going to make history together for our country.”

Katharine McPhee’s Last Caller

There’s life after American Idol.  Even if you’re the runner up.  Katharine McPhee is proving it by embarking on a new film career.  She’s set to take on a starring role in the indie film The Last Caller.

“This is the first thing that I read that I really wanted to do,” McPhee told press.  “I’m up for a couple of big studio projects, but they weren’t starring roles. I wanted to start off doing something a little different. It’s something that a lot of people wouldn’t expect me doing.”
