permalink Sunday, July 08, 2007 Live Earth: Al Gore’s Global Party
As reported previously by the Gossip Girls, the series of Live Earth concerts across seven continents got started off with a bang yesterday (July 7). Just 24 hours later, the global party has come to an end - but the hope is that the event’s message will live on for quite some time to come. Live Earth was organized by former Vice President Al Gore with the goal of raising awareness about global warming. With over 100 musical acts joining in on the cause, the entertainers played to the crowds - with many offering up messages to the over 2 billion people expected to experience the shows through television, radio and the Internet. posted by at 10:41 AM | (1) comments |

She survived the horrific Southeast Asian tsunami and now Petra Nemcova is all about making a difference in the lives of others.
The Czech model is doing everything she can to make her life have meaning. She’s mentoring young models, and even heading up an organization called Happy Hearts Funds, which raises money for children who have been victimized by natural, economic, or health related hardship.

permalink Tuesday, June 05, 2007 CFDA Awards Keep It Fashionable
It was a big night for the fashion world, as the Council of Fashion Designers of America hit New York City. Elisha Cuthbert, Eva Mendes and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were among the celebs in attendance. Some say it could be called the Oscar Awards for the fashion world. The New York Public Library was the setting for the event. Ocean’s Thirteen’s Ellen Barkin was the host of the evening, arriving just in time to start the show. posted by Kayla at 01:21 PM | (0) comments |
permalink Thursday, May 24, 2007 Uncomfortable Cannes For Blunt and Nemcova
With so many celebrities swapping from partner to partner, events such as the Cannes Film Festival tend to lead to a fair share of awkward moments and undesirable run-ins. Coming as little surprise, this year has been no different than the rest. First it was Kid Rock bolting from a restaurant at first sight of ex Pam Anderson. Now, James Blunt has joined Kid by skipping a lavish party in Cannes when ex-love Petra Nemcova arrived in town. posted by at 04:02 PM | (0) comments |

Jo comments on: Halle Berry: Vampire Vixen I love Halle’s tshirt! Does anyone know where to find it? I just bought a swarovski encrusted tshirt at a Twilight convention and it rocks!
here’s where I got mine:
Where can I get Halle’s? Does anyone know? Walker comments on: Reese Witherspoon Fights Domestic Violence in the UK Good for her. I feel like domestic violence is the red-headed step-child of violence issues. It’s easy to speak out against government-induced famine, or wars that kill civilians, or rape. But domestic violence is a very sensitive issue because it is so common! I’m glad Reese is getting people talking. Another voice brave enough to speak on domestic violence is that of Marala Scott, author of the book, “In Our House: Perception vs. Reality.” She is specifically interested in the “Indicators of an Abuser,” a tool she developed to help people recognize patterns in others (or in themselves) that might signify abusive tendencies in the future. Really fascinating stuff, that - you can see them here. Keep up the good work, Reese! Douglas Harnett comments on: Lindsay Lohan: Seeing Kevin Connolly? linsay just needs to leave that loser kevin connolly and come to me with her sexy a** N.J. comments on: Adam Lambert: More Cancellations ABC is really showing their true colors right now… They invited Adam Lambert to do the closing numer on that awards show, they WANTED it to be racy and risky and announced the “Shocking” performance a dozen times throughout the show. And now that the’ve used him to garner ratings they throw him under the bus??? This has nothing to do with his performance, this is a witch hunt. Nothing else! And just because Adam Lambert is gay nobody dares to speak up… it’s disgusting.
These are not the “values” I want my children to learn, I will no longer allow them to watch ABC or any affiliated companies.
Evey comments on: Orlando Bloom: Vdara Hotel Hunk We’ve heard these same stories about this guy when he was seeing a past girlfriend. I wish you guys would try to use your imaginations and think up better stories. Next week you’ll be claiming Miranda is shopping for a wedding dress. And then that she and Orlando were looking at rings. Just like before. It’s so predictable, it’s boring. Anna comments on: Keira Knightley Continues Work on "The Misanthrope" I love this girl. She is so talented and gorgeous. I wish her all the best with the play, I’m sure she’ll be great! |
