Few rock stars actually break through into the Asian market the way Avril Lavigne has.  With millions of Asian album sales, the Sk8er Boi singer was found to be thrilling audiences in Hong Kong this past weekend.

The Canadian punk princess flew into Hong Kong on Friday, along with her rocker husband Deryck Whibley.  The pair took pictures and answered questions upon their arrival.

Lawsuit Strikes A Nerve With Avril Lavigne

Don’t call her a copycat, unless you want the wrath of a Canadian punk princess unleashed.  Avril Lavigne is responding to claims that she stole songs to make her own hits, and it isn’t pretty.

The latest rumor is that Lavigne stole a 1979 hit “I wanna be your boyfriend” from a band called the Rubinoos.  The band’s songwriters, Tommy Dunbar and James Gangwer, are pusuing legal action against Avril.

Ashley MacDonald isn’t your average girl.  She’s a 17-year-old small town girl surviving with a deadly disease called small-cell carcinoma.  And with the help of some Avril Lavigne memorabilia, her wish has been granted.

Through the Make-A-Wish foundation, Ashley was given the opportunity to make a wish list of some fun activities she’d like to do before possible complications from her disease threaten her life.  Item number was a trip to Germany.  And while she wasn’t spreckenzing any Deutch, her second wish was granted last week.

She’s stunning.  She’s sophisticated.  And for the fourth week in a row, Rihanna is at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her uber-hit “Umbrella.”

And it’s nice to see the R&B singer enjoying so much success.  Though she came from humble beginnings (after all, she grew up with a crack smokin’ father), she is using her determination to rule the American pop music scene.
