Singer/Actress Jennifer Lopez is watching her back as of late.  Her fur-wearing ways have continually garnered the attention and criticism of animal rights activists.  Now it’s getting even more serious.

Lopez has reportedly received menacing letters from people who are threatening to “slaughter” her.  These letters were sent by activists who want “to kill her in public, just like the slaughtered animals whose fur she wears.”

Costume Institute Gala: Hollywood Style At Its Best

The New York Metropolitan Museum of Art was the place to be and be seen on Monday night (May 7). The Met played host to this year’s Costume Institute Gala in honor of Paul Poiret.

Poiret was a renowned pre-World War II fashion designer, who was the first to use draping in dressmaking and is credited with launching the suspender belt, flesh-colored stockings, the sack dress and culottes.

The Las Vegas boxing match on Saturday night brought out the stars, as some of the silver screen’s biggest hitters turned out in droves.

According to Hello!, “A proud Jennifer Lopez looked on as her husband Marc Anthony sang the American anthem while Jim Carrey and girlfriend Jenny McCarthy, Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio and John Cusack took up their seats at the MGM Grand.”

Jennifer Lopez Sues Over Heroin Story

The National Enquirer has pushed Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony too far. The couple are irate over a report alleging their involvement in a heroin scandal and have decided to take the matter to court.

According to TMZ, “both J.Lo and Marc are set to file several lawsuits against the National Enquirer in the United Kingdom, claiming that any link to a drug scandal is pure BS. They’re hoping that celeb-friendly libel laws in the U.K. will result in harsher punishment than they might find stateside.”

Marc Anthony’s Tax Troubles

It sure has been a tough week for Marc Anthony. The Latin singer has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this week, including tax penalties and rumors of a troubled marriage.

Anthony recently has agreed to pay $2.5 million in back taxes and penalties after failing to file returns for five years, New York prosecutors announced Wednesday.
