Stars Help Bono Raise Money at The (RED) Auction

While most people were busy having dinner and dessert, U2 frontman Bono was busy hocking artwork to benefit his (RED) charity.

It all went down at Sotheby’s on New York City’s swanky Upper East Side.  And stars like Christy Turlington, Martha Stewart and Russell Simmons showed up to lend their support to the cause.

Bono’s Boxing Day Bliss

It seems we all have annoying family holiday traditions.  But celebrities can be just as bad.  For U2 frontman Bono, Boxing Day (the day after Christmas) means a trip to the races.

The “Vertigo” singer took his wife, Ali, and four children to Leopardstown in Dublin, Ireland for the yearly event. 

Ashley Judd and Bono Promote AIDS Awareness

As mentioned earlier today by the Gossip Girls, Ashley Judd is taking a break from filming her new movie “Helen” in Canada for a little charity work.

The High Crimes actress, who flew out of Vancouver on Wednesday, sported a purple sari as she attended the YouthAIDS Benefit Gala on Friday at the Ritz Carlton in McLean, Virginia.

Bono Honored At 2007 Black Ball Concert

The 2007 Annual Black Ball Concert was in full force last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.  And there was enough star power to light up the Big Apple during a power outage.

As far as performers, the charity event hosted the likes of Sheryl Crow and Gwen Stefani.  Sheryl showed up in a black ensemble including a plunging neckline shirt, complete with a fur-trimmed vest, and fleece leggings topped off with leather studded boots.

Stars Show Up For Mandela In Monaco

In a star studded event, Nelson Mandela was recently honored at a high profile charity ball held in his name in Monaco. Mandela was personally welcomed by Price Albert, who gave a speech praising the man affectionately known as Madiba for his tireless fight against poverty, AIDS and crime.

Joining Prince Albert in honoring Mandela were celebrities from across the globe, with a quick snapshot including: Bono from U2, supermodels Naomi Campbell, Petra Nemcova, and Victoria Silvstedt, and US actor Morgan Freeman.
