Rihanna and Bono Sing for Haitian Relief

Carrying their weight when it comes to pitching in on the relief efforts, Rihanna and Bono sang out side-by-side during the “Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief” in London on Friday (January 22).

Held at The Hospital, the Barbadian beauty and U2 frontman joined fellow performers including Jay-Z, The Edge and Coldplay during the fundraising efforts.

Jay-Z and Beyonce: Helping Haiti from London

Fresh off of their charitable endeavors, Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles were spotted leaving the “Hope For Haiti Now: A Global Benefit For Earthquake Relief” benefit at The Hospital in London on Friday night (January 22).

With U2 members Bono and The Edge following closely behind, the supercouple strolled past paparazzi following the evening recording session.

U2 and Jay-Z Rock Berlin

Igniting the crowd, U2 was in Berlin for a free mini-concert on Thursday in front of the Brandenburg Gate, playing singles and even a duet with Jay-Z while the show was covered from a public view by a nearly 6 ½ foot high metal barrier.

Bono said hello to the crowd with German words “Berlin, Du bist wunderbar!” (Berlin, you are wonderful!) and the band played a 30-minute, six-song set that featured “Sunday, Bloody Sunday,” “One Love” and “Beautiful Day.”

It was most certainly an affair to remember, and Penelope Cruz was excited to see her gal pal Salma Hayek’s Venetian wedding to French billionaire Francios-Henri Pinault over the weekend.

The “Vanilla Sky” cutie was joined by her partner Javier Bardem and iconic rock star Bono and his wife Alison Hewson as she headed to the swanky reception at the Teatro La Fenice Opera House.

Bono Honored as “Man of Peace”

Cheered on by a well-attended audience, U2 singer Bono was honored with the Prix de L’édition 2008 during the 9th Nobel Peace Prize Summit held at Hotel de Ville in Paris, France on Friday (December 12).

With actress Penelope Cruz and France’s first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy looking on, the Irish-born singer was bestowed the “Man of Peace” prize for his efforts in tackling African debt, disease and poverty.
