2009 MTV Movie Awards: Star-Studded Presenters

Instead of a presenters’ break for an on-stage “smoke,” this year’s “2009 MTV Movie Awards” promises to get movie fans high on star power alone! Sure to make movie-lovers and celeb-watchers everywhere green with golden popcorn envy, a bevy of the hottest stars in Hollywood are confirmed to hand out awards as Denzel Washington, Cameron Diaz, Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell, Vanessa Hudgens , Leighton Meester, Jonah Hill and Lil Wayne are the first to be announced in the growing list of presenters.

With a stage this hot, viewers can expect another year of incredible pairings and extreme moments. They join previously revealed performer Eminem, who will take the stage to perform music from his anticipated new album Relapse, available May 19, and give one of the captivating and unconventional live MTV performances fans live for. Hosted by Andy Samberg, the “2009 MTV Movie Awards” will be broadcast LIVE from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA on Sunday, May 31st at 9p.m./8p.m.C.

Kate Walsh and Will Ferrell: Courtside Kiss

Taking in an exciting tennis match, Will Ferrell and his wife were spotted sitting next to Kate Walsh and her brother Joe at Indian Wells Tennis Garden yesterday (March 22).

The “Old School” funnyman played it cool for the most part, except when he discovered that the “Kissing Cam” had spotted him.

Will Ferrell Wins Joyce Award

It’s no secret that Will Ferrell is one of the funniest men alive.  And the folks over in Ireland were recently treated to an in-person dose of his deadpan humor when he was awarded the James Joyce Award from University College Dublin.

As he took the stage to accept the award, the “Old School” actor fell into his familiar comic zone.  He addressed the crowd of over 1,000 university students, “As I perused my leather-bound volumes of ‘Ulysses,’ ‘Finnegans Wake,’ ‘Dubliners,’ ‘Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man,’ standing in my mahogany library, a lot of feelings ran across my mind. Like: ‘Damn, I should have read these books.’”

Walk Hard! Star Studded Dewey Cox Premiere

Ever since we started seeing the trailer for “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story” we’ve been counting down the days until its release.  And after last night’s Hollywood premiere at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater, it’s only a matter of days.

As could be expected, Will Ferrell was in the house to support his “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” co-star John C. Reilly (who plays Dewey Cox).  He sported a ten gallon hat and an ensemble of western wear.

Boxing Brings Out the Stars

The Las Vegas boxing match on Saturday night brought out the stars, as some of the silver screen’s biggest hitters turned out in droves.

According to Hello!, “A proud Jennifer Lopez looked on as her husband Marc Anthony sang the American anthem while Jim Carrey and girlfriend Jenny McCarthy, Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio and John Cusack took up their seats at the MGM Grand.”
