Many of us remember Kate Beckinsale in the romantic chick flick “Serendipity” playing John Cusack’s Big Apple love interest Sarah Thomas.  And yesterday Kate was spotted in New York City on her way to the Late Show.

The “Underworld” actress was caught up by a few fans outside her Ritz-Carlton hotel and stopped to sign a few autographs and shake a few hands.  She even received a bouquet of flowers from one of her adoring fans.

Prior to dazzling spectators on the red carpet at the 2008 Screen Actors Guild awards, Kate Beckinsale had a mini pet emergency back at home.

“Our cat [Clive] caught fire on a candle,” the actress told press, adding, “As I was getting ready, there was like ‘whoosh’ a fireball and he went up like a rocket.”
