Mandy Moore Likes It On The Floor

She’s got a new critically acclaimed album, “Wild Hope,” and her latest film “Because I Said So” was a Hollywood Hit.  But Mandy Moore confesses that the road so far hasn’t been easy for her.

In a recent interview, Mandy talks about the consequences of being a child star, and how it’s hindered her experiences leading up to adulthood.  Moore got her first record deal at the tender age of 14, and it’s been very complicated ever since.

No Caribbean Wedding For Mandy Moore

When it comes to dream weddings, it’s hard to beat getting married on a beach at sunset.  But Mandy Moore has said “no thanks” to a romantic Caribbean ceremony.

During the filming of “License To Wed,” Mandy realized that her lifelong dream of getting married on an island beach was more of a nightmare.  The humidity and heat caused her to scrap any plans of a future wedding in the Caribbean outdoors.

It’s really hard for teeny-bopper singers to be taken seriously.  Take Hanson for instance… great songwriting, but they’ll never eclipse their MMMBop days.  That’s why it’s so cool that Mandy Moore has traded her “Candy” image for a mature singer/songwriter motif.

Her new album, “Wild Hope” is a giant step forward.  She gave the music world a hint at where she was going with her last album, 2003’s “Coverage” which showed a more mature Moore paying homage to songs of yesteryear. 

Mandy Moore’s New Album: Good Therapy

An artist always seeks solace in their work.  It is an outlet for emotions, and a safe place to get real with their inner self.  Mandy Moore’s new album “Wild Hope” was a much needed therapy session of sorts.

The Walk to Remember star credits the recording process as having pulled her out of a deep depression. Earlier this month she told press, “I’m a pretty positive person, but about a year and a half ago, I felt like someone dimmed the lights. I’ve said depressed before, but it wasn’t that I was incapable of going on about my day. I just felt sad and confused. I was asking, ‘Am I really the person I want to be? Am I really fulfilled?’”

Mandy Moore Goes Back to School

How cool would it be to have your favorite singer come to your school to hang out and do a concert?  Ask Nikelle Riggs.  She won a video competition and the grand prize was to have Mandy Moore come to her school.

The contest, titled “The Extraordinary High School Competition,” was put on by Photobucket. Participants were required to submit a “video remix” to one of Moore’s new songs. The video had to capture why the participant’s high school was so “extraordinary.”
