Out for a good cause, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden spoke to a small crowd inside the Karsten Neighborhood Resource Center at a ceremony to open the Richie-Madden Children’s Playground on Thursday (October 22).

The Richie-Madden facility is part of the Beyond Shelter neighborhood revitalization project in South Los Angeles, which is a 50-unit service-enriched housing complex designed to assist homeless families.
